Vadasz continues to climb after NRA’s Distinguished Semi-Auto

US Border Patrol holds lead at day’s end in National Police Shooting Championships

Border Patrol’s Robert Vadasz shooting Distinguished Semi-Auto at the 50th NRA National Police Shooting Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Albuquerque, New Mexico – Scores have just been posted for the Distinguished Semi-Automatic Championship shot earlier today and, of little surprise to anyone, Robert Vadasz holds the lead with a 594-37x. This match makes up 1/5th of the Service Pistol Championship and combines with the Distinguished Revolver Championship – shot tomorrow – to make up the President’s Match.

A 60-round course, competitors fire from 7, 25 and 50 yards in the standing, kneeling, sitting positions with both their left and right hands while supported and unsupported. Get all that?

Another 1/5th of the Service Pistol Championship is the Stock Service Semi-Automatic Championship, wrapping up right now at Shooting Park Range. It’s the third and final leg of the day, which has seen competitors out here shooting for nearly 10 hours. Hopefully no one is too tired, because there are three more days identical to this one coming up.

The Stock Service Semi-Automatic Championship is a little easier on competitors, seeing them fire 12 less shots and as close to their target as three yards. Scores for this one won’t be available for a while as the fourth relay’s shots are currently roaring in the distance.
