Tony Phan Brings Home Another Win For Team S&W

SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — The trophy case at corporate headquarters in Springfield, Mass. just got a little more crowded as Team Smith & Wesson’s Tony Phan swept all but one stage on his way to winning the Limited-10 title at the U.S. Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) 2010 Area 4 Handgun Championship sponsored by firearms maker STI International.

The dominating performance by the Webster, Texas resident not only gave him a 226 point lead over his nearest competitor, but the win also brings the 158-year-old gun maker’s win tally to 38, the most wins of any factory supported shooting team.

“Tony put on a devastating shooting clinic this weekend in taking the STI Area 4 Limited-10 title. My congratulations to Tony and Team Smith & Wesson,” said Michael Voigt, president of USPSA.

Coming in second was Anthony Luciani of Phoenix, Ariz. who was the only shooter to best Phan on a stage with his winning run on stage 12. Luciani finished the match with a final score of 1186.7775.
