The Range Is Hot!

While Michael is sitting in his hidden bunker listening to Jim Morrison’s “Summer’s Almost Gone”, I am still wearing shorts and muscle shirt just for the heck of it.  It is getting colder though, but with our work schedule this fall and winter, I am betting there will be little time to complain about the weather….

The 10 episode premiere season of The Best Defense Survival is over and we are now rolling out reruns on Outdoor Channel for the rest of the year.  Michael is in the middle of preparing the production of The Best Defense season 2 and production starts in a couple of weeks in Tulsa.

I receive lots of emails about Best Defense DVDs and yes, they will be available shortly and you will not miss out when we make them available on DownRange.tv and OutdoorChannel.com. Season 1 is already available here.

Tonight on Outdoor Channel:
This week on Shooting Gallery is a rerun about Steel Challenge 2008 . On Cowboys, it is all about shotguns used in Cowboy Action Shooting. Tupelo talks with three of the major players in the sport about this very topic. See trailer here.

Best Defense Survival reruns episode #3 called Wild Fires and Urban Fires. For those who missed some of the episodes, here’s the episode list updated with rerun dates.

Ruger Specials
If you are in need for some gear and gadgets from Ruger, look up the forum and take a look at the specials they have for you in September.

The Down Range Online Video Series (webisodes)

Wednesday Night at the Range with original productions like Shooting Gallery, Best Defense and Cowboys have been a success on Outdoor Channel and new seasons are in the pipeline for 2010.

Daily, we receive request about offering these type of shows for our online visitors, especially for those who don’t have the option of subscribing to Outdoor Channel.  These shows will be available on DVD and downloads in the future but only after they have been aired on TV.

However, we do want to make these types of show available to you through our Digital Media (online) efforts. A new series will be launched in 4th quarter 2009.  “Down Range Online” will compliment the shooting time slot on Outdoor Channel on Wednesday night and vice versa.

These Down Range Webisodes will be a series with minimum 12 new shows per year. Topics will be related to shooting sports, personal defense and training.

We have listened to our viewers and forum members and can promise content you have been asking for. Keep up sending us new ideas. We appreciate hearing from you.

We will still continue to provide short form videos with shooting related content from correspondents and producers nation wide. All content will be categorized in new video players for easy access based on interest. Individual players will also be placed in articles and blog posts related to the video content.

In addition, we’re planning a monthly series dedicated to new products from the industry from firearms to gear and gadgets.

Michael Bane will also show up weekly with a five minute “news reel” with current happenings in the industry.

So now you know why there won’t be time to complain about cold weather…..
