Shooting USA’s Jon Michael McGrath Climbs To No. 5 in the World in Men’s Skeet

The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF), the International Governing Body for Olympic Shooting Sports based in Munich, Germany has announced USA’s Jon Michael McGrath (Tulsa, OK) has moved up in the World Ranking in the Olympic sport of Skeet from No. 7 to No. 5.

McGrath won the Gold Medal for the United States in April, 2011 at the World Cup in Sydney, Australia defeating the best shooters in the world with a score of 149 hits out of 150.   USA Teammate Kimberly Rhode (El Monte, CA) is Ranked No. 1 in Women’s Skeet, Caitlin Connor (Winnfield, LA) is ranked No. 4 and Jaiden Grinnell (Port Angeles, WA) is ranked No. 8.

McGrath was first introduced to the shooting sports at his first Boy Scout summer camp when he was 11-years old and is a former Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) National Champion. SCTP is the Official Clay Target Youth Development Program of USA Shooting.

In 2009, McGrath earned the rank of Eagle Scout.  He is a graduate of Bishop Kelley High School in Tulsa.  McGrath is currently a resident athlete at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs and a member of the USA Shooting Team. USA Shooting is the National Governing Body for Olympic Shooting Sports in the United States.
