Go West Young Man, Or Woman: Wyoming State Steel Challenge This Weekend

If you are looking for something to shoot this weekend, the Wyoming State Steel Challenge is the ticket – just ask Julie Golob and Carrie Jamrogowicz.

Both women, who are very accomplished shooters – Julie’s a 10x USPSA national champ, past Steel Challenge winner and captain of Team Smith & Wesson, and Carrie just missed taking the Area 1 Production title for the 3rd year in row – are road tripping in from the Big Sky Country of Montana to shoot the match. The opportunity to shoot with two of the nation’s top guns should not be passed up.

The match will take place Saturday and Sunday, July 17-18, at the Rawlins Outdoor Shooting Complex in Rawlins, Wyoming, and there are plenty of slots available for shooters to compete both days. The match fee is just $55 (Juniors 10-17 pay $35), which includes your range fee and one lunch. Want to shoot a couple divisions? The additional gun fee is just $20 per gun.

Brent Wilkes, who is running the match, says that they are running all eight of the official Steel Challenge stages and last minute entries are welcomed. The registration form is available online, so strap on your blaster, load your mags and get your game face on. The Wyoming State Steel Challenge is calling your name.
