Bagakis Makes It A 4-Peat at Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship

LOS OSOS, Calif. – John Bagakis proved once again why he’s one of the best revolver shooters in the country as he claimed his fourth consecutive Limited division title this weekend at the 20th Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship in San Luis Obispo, Calif.

The Team Smith & Wesson shooter from Livermore, Calif. lead the match from start to finish and claimed wins on nine of the 10 stages on his way to the title. Bagakis finished the match with a final time of 257.81 seconds.

“I guess you could say John is in a groove,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE. “He’s winning nearly every revolver match he enters and doing so year after year, proving that when it comes to an iron-sight revolver he’s the man to beat.”

Finishing second and more than 43 seconds behind Bagakis was Smith & Wesson teammate Tony Phan of Webster, Texas with one stage win and a final time of 301.30 seconds. Third place went to another Smith & Wesson shooter, and last year’s runner-up, Elliot Aysen of Thibodaux, La. who also won one stage and finished with a time of 303.59. Aysen’s top five finish won him the Senior Limited title.

James Austin of Fox Island, Wash., who took third the last two years, finished fourth with in a time of 308.44 while Richard Brethour of Tempe, Ariz. claimed fifth with a time of 315.41.
