Wolfe Repeats As Open Div. Champ at ICORE Southwest Regional

LOS OSOS, Calif. – Rich Wolfe of Escalon, Calif. repeated as the Open division champ at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) 14th Annual Southwest Regional Revolver Championship.

The 32-year-old Sierra Arms shooting team member won seven of the eight stages in the match and outpaced his nearest competitor by just over 26 seconds with a final time of 125.15. Wolfe claimed High Overall honors by topping the entire field of 110 shooters.

“Rich is an outstanding Open division shooter and is always in contention to win any ICORE match he enters. His dominant performance this weekend at the Southwest Regional proves he’s on his game and will be gunning for top honors this June at the 20th Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.

Finishing in second place was  Eric Leach of Los Osos, Calif. who posted a final time of 151.20 seconds. Third went to Pat Hogue of the firearms grip maker Hogue, Inc., located in Paso Robles, Calif., who finished with 152.51.

Rounding out the top five were Team ADCO’s Vic Pickett of Mesa, Ariz. and Todd Crow of Antioch, Calif. in fourth and fifth with final times of 153.76 and 154.74 respectively.

Elsewhere in Open division competition, Team Smith & Wesson’s Janae Sarabia, a junior shooter from Lompoc, Calif., took the Women’s Open division title with a final time of 213.32 seconds. She also finished as the High Overall Woman in the match. Among the seniors, Juan Hernandez of South Pasedena, Calif. won the Senior Open title with 183.99.

The match, which was held this past weekend on the Hogue Action Pistol Range at the San Luis Obispo Sportsmen’s Association in San Luis Obispo, Calif., drew 110 top wheelgunners from across California and the region. The match was the first of seven events in the ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith and Wesson.

The next major match on the ICORE competition schedule is the 20th Annual Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship which will take place June 2-5, also on the Hogue Action Pistol Range in San Luis Obispo.
