On Best Defense Survival: Food

The last place you want to be is at the grocery store Michael Bane found in the lower 9th ward of New Orleans.  Having been destroyed by hurricane Katrina, this supermarket was once the heart of a thriving neighborhood.  When disaster hits, you need to have your own resources available to get you through.

After water and shelter, food is the next, most important resource you need.  Mike Janich discusses what types of food to store and how to store them, as well as how to do the math when figuring out how much food you need on hand.

And if you are one of millions who own a model 1911, Rob Pincus will show you how to train with the classic .45 auto to be prepared for the worst case scenario.

One of the great dilemmas in Florida is that when a declaration of emergency exists, carrying a gun in public places (even if a CCW license holder) is against the law .

They do that here in Louisiana also. It was done to people in New Orleans after Katrina. The police came around and confiscated personal weapons from people. They were given back later but it took away your ability to defend yourself. As everyone that watched on t.v., there was a lot of looting and people going crazy shooting at anyone that the bad guys thought would give them any resistance or that they saw as an opportunity to rob. The gangs went nuts and there were firefights everywhere in the city. Very sad when the government can just declare an emergency and take your guns. What was worse to me was that the police that were supposed to protect and defend were one of the worst looters and those same people say the will defend the 2nd Amendment.

First of all I love your show and watch it every Wednesday. I have learned a lot and am sharing this information for those who don’t get your program. My comment to the first gentleman in a state of emergency. That is why it is a concealed carry. Only I know. I will protect myself and family. Many times Law Enforcement has a lot more to deal with in a huge situation.
