I was fortunate enough to receive this book from the author at the NRA Show in Houston. I was in the right place at the right time! I recommend it to both novice and more experienced shooters. While I am the go to gun guy where I work, I am definitely not an expert.
This book makes the basics understandable enough for a novice. It also provides more experienced shooters with some slightly different ways of thinking about defensive training. The author includes both training drills and evaluation exercises so you can judge your progress. I think that this book is well worth adding to your shooting library even without the chance to experience Gunsite.
