Nordskog Publishing introduces With My Rifle by My Side: A Second Amendment Lesson by Kimberly Jo Simac, their inaugural release under the Young Heart Books imprint. Said publisher Gerald Christian Nordskog: “Young Heart Books encourage the young to seek the Lord in prayer, worship in church, and love the liberties provided by the sacrifices of our country’s forefathers so they may grow into tomorrow’s American patriots.”

Glenn Beck, on his July 2 TV show, described Kimberly Jo Simac as “an amazing woman” and showed her new book. Earlier, on June 29, on his radio show (with Webcam online), he described meeting her and showed her book, then opening to a picture of the family in a museum looking at the painting of our Founders signing the Constitution. He said he would read it to his son and pointed out that it is about the 2nd Amendment.

This is more than just a picture book. The appendix for parents and grandparents contains gun safety guidelines, links to programs for children, and Founders’ quotes to introduce a 2nd Amendment study.

Written for children 8 and younger, the book tells two stories at once: A boy’s initiation into rifle safety and hunting; and his awakening to the solemn necessity of firearms for preserving personal and national liberty. The young protagonist observes of the Founding Fathers:

“With their rifles by their sides, they protected their right to be free.
They defended their land, neighbors, towns, and families.”

Through this, her fourth children’s book, Simac expresses her belief that it is past the time for Americans to defend the country that has offered so much to its citizens. Because we have lost sight of our original values — now our morals, work ethic, pride, and integrity have been greatly diminished. The result is a transformation of America rendering Lady Liberty helpless to defend and protect her people. The Founders predicted such demise if we strayed from the fundamental premise that government should serve the people and not the reverse.

Of With My Rifle by My Side, publisher Gerald Christian Nordskog said, “How will American children achieve greatness if no one instills such attributes as courage, integrity, and honesty in their hearts and minds? This book will inspire children to take their place as the future leaders of our nation. It is intended to motivate youngsters to know their gun as companion and defender. This book also teaches the role of the Colonial Minutemen and of all the soldiers who have defended our country throughout history.”

In addition to writing, Simac and her husband have reared nine children and are now grandparents. She is also a talk radio host, national speaker, and conservative activist. She leads the group “Northwoods Patriots” and sponsors Tea Party events.

Illustrator Donna Goeddaeus is an award-winning illustrator and fine arts instructor.

so you bloggers must think its ok for the progessives to have propaganda in our public schools, the Constitution and the bill of rights should be taught in all schools as well as more/better US history, so we dont end up with a government like we have now

Hate to submit to the tremendous waste of blog comments. I would rather have an Oprah book “sticker” than a Gelnn Beck one anyday! And I don’t like Oprah, but at least there is a chance (small) she actually read the book and has an actual position to support that. Please don’t allow yall’s love of Glenn Beck detract from the legitimacy of how we feel about the Second Amendment and its implications.

Pragmatic Mom, I’d much rather see my children understand our sacred Constitutional God Inspired/Blood earned rights, why the second amendment is so critical to our Republic, and how, through proper education and training..understand the safe and proper uses of firearms, which one day may HELP save YOUR life or someone you know!

I’d much rather see my children grow up reading about our national past time and heritage, than be forced by Marxist Government to read books about homosexual penguins and diversity.

I’m sorry you were not brought up from childhood in your family a/o personal life with truthful and factual understanding of the Nation, and Charters of Freedoms which, through countless self sacrifice of our brave for over 230+ years… gives you and your Progressive/Liberal/Marxist/Socialist/Communist/Sharia friends…the freedom and liberty to make such slanderous comments not only against a great Patriot and wonderful father, but against the very Amendment of our Constitution which keeps you safe and sound in your basement in your under garments with a deskful of twinkies and chips.

Yes, we will continue to stand guard for our Republic and Charters of Freedoms, even for people like you!

  7. Farmboy says:

Just where do you people think the freedoms you seem to take for granted came from? They come from the Constitution! Yours, mine, ours, OUR constitution! The same constitution written by patriots for us WE THE PEOPLE. These patriots put it all on the line when those words were put on paper. They were risking everything to give you the rights you and all of us have today. You have these freedoms thanks to the thousands of soldiers, sailors and marines who gave their lives for this country! Not to forget the sacrifice of men and women out of uniform as well. You dare to call a book about the constitution or any part of it propaganda? How dare you? Wake up people before you loose those freedoms!

  8. Kim Simac says:

Thank you for posting the information about my book. I believe it to be the most important book of the year for young children. If we do not teach our children to love and respect this great country, then who will?
