Free Agent Abbate

Jessie Abbate is a free agent.

No longer with Team Glock, the USPSA’s top female shooter is looking for a new gun company sponsor. While Sig and S&W are rumored to be looking at Abbate, no announcement was made at the USPSA Area 6 match.

Abbate, who competed in the Open division, is not without corporate support. Her shirt sports one firearms industry name that adorns many of the top shooters’ logo laden shirts; Atlanta Arms & Ammo.

It will be fun to watch who snaps up Abbate, but even more fun watching who passes, or shows up a day late and a dollar short. If I were at Smith, Springfield or Sig, or even FNH, I’d be all over this opportunity to put my company’s product so consistently in the winner’s circle of competition shooting. But some companies are more serious than others when it comes to using competition as a serious marketing tool.

Whoever signs Jessie to their shooting team will be making a strong statement and a very good marketing decision.

Jessie is not over confident – she works her butt off and is rewarded for it.

There are other venues for poorly thought out comments.

to the person that posted jesse is to arrogant ,she has worked very very hard to be as good as she is ,put yourself in any good competitors shoes confidence is mandatory.

Wow…ignorance has a name. In this forum, it’s “anonymous”. Over confident? Really? Why don’t you sign your name to your comment if you are going to make ignorant remarks like that?

  9. Kay Miculek says:

Jessie has the confidence of a winner. Absolutely nothing wrong with that. She is not cocky or arrogant about her wins. I’ve shot against her, and lost, many times. She’s a gracious winner. The few times I beat her, early in her practical pistol career, she was also a gracious loser.

Looks like anonymous there just got told hard – and by Kay Miculek, no less.

    Good job.

  11. Mike Amory says:

I hope she does well wherever she goes but I won’t stop shooting my Glocks just because she and Dave S. are looking for greener grass.
