Down Range Radio #251: Awareness vs. Paranoia

Share This:

This week, Michael starts out with comments about the end game for anti gunners like Mayor Bloomberg in New York.  A repeating topic on DR Radio is .380 ammunition, this time triggered by a new article written by our friend Richard Mann over at Shooting Illustrated.  Air rifles is also on Michael’s mind with his latest purchase of the Benjamin Marauder and a model from Airforce Airguns.  Finally, in the self defense segments, we focus on Awareness vs. Paranoia.

The concept I heard at training last month (and really liked) was that if you’re a people watcher, you’re already well on the way to being in Condition Yellow most of the time.

Hey, Michael! I’ve thought for a long time that I’d rather have three fast hits than one big explosion. I may be completely incorrect and it could be my SASS indoctrination but it was nice to hear someone express something pretty similar. With that in mind I’d also like to thank you for your tour of the Taurus factory. I’ve been looking at those little .380’s you were talking about and so I looked at the Taurus lineup and decided the 738 looked kind of interesting. Even though I own two Taurus revolvers I’ve sort of been trained to think of them as second-level guns. So I’ve already looked at Youtube reviews of the S&W, Ruger, Keltech and Kahr .380’s but I only found a few shooting reviews of the 738. They had one thing in common, much, MUCH smaller groups than the big name pistols could manage. Thanks for pointing me in the Taurus direction, I’m going to have to get a good look at this model for consideration.
