The Urban Shooter Joins DRTV

I want to thank the DownrangeTV team for letting me become a part of their blog.  The Urban Shooter Podcast is the next evolution of my alter ego the “Black Man With A Gun.”  I created www.blackmanwithagun.com in 1999 to promote my upcoming book and take advantage of the ease of reaching people on the internet.  What happened surpassed what I was trying to do.  I didn’t sell many books online in the beginning but the website established me as an internationally known advocate of color for the Second Amendment.  I was just looking for a job from one of the big pro-gun organizations.

The Urban Shooter Podcast is a weekly show that allows me to do what I can’t do as the pastor of a Christian church in Washington, DC or as analyst fighting the global war on terrorism for national security.  The show ranges from forty-five minutes to a little over an hour about things in the gun culture that I have learned, thoughts that can keep you safe, make you laugh or even think.  I push my personal envelope on this show and  try new things every month.  Having been around the gun culture since 1992, I have managed to meet some great people and use my show to interview them and engage them in conversations to show you how cool they are on top of being the advocate or leader you know from gun literature.

The show even features an ongoing soap opera called “Zombie Strike” where I narrate a story written by my friend and listener Derek Ward.  He took the story I created and gave it an undead life of its own.  It’s a hit for those that like the old school radio serial flavor, and the reference of all the firearms used.

The name of the show speaks to “urban” which gives homage to those that live in or near a city.  These gun owners catch hell with restrictions, limited places to shoot and train and the brunt of the negative attitudes you can get from others about being a law abiding supporter of the RKBA’s.  It has nothing to do with your race or ethnicity and everything to do with freedom.  Listeners come from all over the world and the urban tag unfortunately fit more of us that not.  I’m broadcasting from right outside the Nations Capitol.  It pays to have a sense of humor or you just cry all the time.

This is the third year of the podcast and I hope to take it up a notch as time goes on with more entertainment and fun.  Please help me make it that much more.  I look forward to hearing from you.
