Ruger Firearms has really stepped up the efforts to promote action shooting sports with the use of rimfire handguns and rifles.<\/p>\n
The first shooting event of this kind, was held in California in 2007.\u00a0 See our video coverage of this event<\/a>.<\/p>\n Now we learn that Ruger wants to give this sport another boost in the hope of establishing this competition on a national level with regional championships. See their new micro site<\/a>.<\/p>\n DRTV has been closely following the rimfire shooting competition from the initial plans to the inaugural shoot in ’07. Michael Bane and Ruger’s Ken Jorgenson continually\u00a0 stay in close contact about this project and it’s a natural thing for us to make sure this sport gets the coverage it deserves. We’ll do our best to spread the word about upcoming matches, results, etc. Same goes for profiling young, old, new and experienced shooters including those families who use rimfire sports as a fun activity at the range.<\/p>\n I believe Rimfire Action Shooting (my name for it) will be a huge hit with the average gun owner.\u00a0 It’s a great option to be able to\u00a0 practice and compete with rimfire ammo.
