Fairfax, Va.<\/strong>\u2014<\/span>The House Judiciary Committee today approved H.R. 38, the\u00a0Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act<\/span><\/a>, by a vote of 19-11.\u00a0<\/span>H.R. 38 would eliminate the confusing patchwork of state laws that make it difficult for law-abiding gun owners to travel across the country with their firearms for personal protection. The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, affirms that law-abiding citizens who are qualified to carry concealed firearms in one state can also carry in other states that allow residents to do so.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLaw-abiding citizens should be able to exercise their fundamental\u00a0right\u00a0to self-defense\u00a0while traveling across state lines without fear of unknowingly breaking the law. For years, the National Rifle Association\u2019s top legislative priority has been to pass National Concealed Carry Reciprocity, a much-needed solution to the confusing patchwork of state and local gun laws.
