LOS OSOS, Calif. \u2014 Team Smith & Wesson\u2019s Elliot and Annette Aysen, Thibodaux, Louisiana\u2019s husband and wife shooting duo, successfully defended their Limited division titles this past weekend in San Luis Obispo, Calif. at the 2010 Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championships (IRC).<\/p>\n

For the third year in a row Annette Aysen won the Lady\u2019s Limited division title. She led the field through the entire match, winning all but one of the 12 stages and posting a final score of 347.65. She also finished 43rd overall.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite being a little nervous on my first stage I had an excellent match. Without knowing where I finished, I knew coming off that last stage that had shot a solid match and not matter where I finished, I was going to be happy. Obviously I\u2019m really pleased it was in first place,\u201d said Annette Aysen.<\/p>\n

Elliot Aysen again claimed the Senior Limited title with a score of 297.04 which placed him second among all Limited division shooters and 13th overall in the match.<\/p>\n

\u201cOverall I\u2019m pleased with how I shot the match. I felt I read the stages the right way and moved through them at a good speed. My performance on the standards was not as strong as I\u2019d like but I\u2019m very satisfied overall,\u201d said Elliot Aysen.<\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s Limited competition finishing just over 53 points behind Aysen was past women\u2019s champion and Team Apex Tactical member Lisa Farrell of Los Osos, Calif. who took second with 400.88. Farrell was the only shooter to best Aysen on any stage, topping her and the field on the third stage.<\/p>\n

Junior shooter and Team Smith & Wesson member, Molly Smith of Cambria, Calif. placed third in the Limited division with a score of 460.40 which also helped her win the Junior Limited division title.<\/p>\n

Teddi Edington of Renton, Wash. paced fourth with 489.36 while Barbara Thibodaux, also of Thibodaux, La., took fifth in what was her first appearance at the IRC with 493.30.<\/p>\n

In the senior competition Gary Thibodaux finished second behind Aysen with 419.62. In third was Errol Sharp of New Zealand with 429.58 while Ivan McKinley of Big Bear Lake, Calif. and Bob Engellenner of Fresno, Calif. rounded out the top five finishing fourth and fifth with 444.28 and 471.95 respectively.<\/p>\n

Organized by the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE<\/a>), and held at Hogue Action Pistol Range at the San Luis Obispo Sportsmen\u2019s Association, the IRC drew more than 200 top revolver shooters, representing 22 states and six foreign nations. Titles were awarded in the Open, Limited or Retro divisions with scoring based on time and accuracy where time penalties are accrued for misses and shots outside the x-ring.<\/p>\n
