\"USCCAIn a statement earlier today, President Barack Obama announced his plan to initiate a new executive order that includes but is not limited to expanding background checks for private gun sellers.<\/p>\n

According to Fox News, the President\u2019s actions \u201cmark a renewed bid…to enact gun control measures with or without Congress.\u201d<\/p>\n

USCCA President and Founder Tim Schmidt notes that \u201cPresident Obama\u2019s anti-freedom, pro-socialism executive order\u2014his blatant push for more gun control\u2014is a direct response to calls from anti-gunners\u2014who, by the way, do not comprise the majority of people in this country\u2014to do \u2018something\u2019 about the perceived level of gun violence across the U.S.\u201d<\/p>\n

He insists, \u201cWe absolutely cannot stand for this gross overreach of power that directly and negatively affects millions of law-abiding men and women in this country.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been shown time and time again that background checks do nothing to reduce crime,\u201d Schmidt adds. \u201cAnd yet, the President is determined to appease the people\u2014the media, mainly\u2014who claim they do.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s pretty clear to me that President Obama\u2019s endgame is simply to disarm as many law-abiding Americans as possible,\u201d Schmidt suggests. \u201cNot only is it dangerous\u2026it\u2019s unconstitutional.\u201d<\/p>\n
