\"\"<\/a>I survived all that was the Second Amendment March.\u00a0 There were hundreds of emails, cell and Skype calls, schedule shifting, html and web work, prayer, and promotion.\u00a0 There was hope and fear.\u00a0 There was preparation and spending.\u00a0 And I wasn\u2019t even the organizer of the event.\u00a0 I was just the Black Man With A Gun<\/em>, an American that pastors a small Christian church in Washington, DC, leads a household, befriends just about everybody and produces a podcast every week to inspire, entertain and promote the right to keep and bear arms in a amicable way.<\/p>\n

The day itself was picturesque.\u00a0 The Mall was still reeling from the Tea Party, anti-war demonstrators, ecologist, victims and supporters of victims for every world event.\u00a0 About two thousand people including journalist from all over the world may have touch the grounds during the day.\u00a0 Buses from the Heartland brought Americans dissatisfied with the government to the place where democracy emanates from.\u00a0 While we still can gather in a peaceable assembly, we did.\u00a0 While we still can speak freely, we did.\u00a0 We did it for awhile together and it was beautiful.\u00a0 There were no arrests.\u00a0 There were no injuries.\u00a0 And we left the place better than we found it thanks to volunteers that traveled twelve hours or better to make it all happen.<\/p>\n

It wasn\u2019t all peaches and cream.\u00a0 There was another assembly across the Potomac where Americans exercised their right to peaceably assembly with arms while they<\/span> could and the media loved it.\u00a0 Bald headed men or men in military clothing with firearms looks more menacing than a mother with a baby stroller holding Old Glory.\u00a0 I gave the best speech I could to encourage shooters to keep on fighting and work together.\u00a0 I met CNN reporters who preferred me to disparage the NRA, the demographics of the March or some element of government but I resisted the urge to counter what I had just said to my friends to get some TV time.\u00a0 I learned that being a positive representative of gun ownership will make you socially invisible.\u00a0 I figured out that being articulate, law abiding and presenting well is not a profitable feature in this business.<\/p>\n

On episode 162 of The Urban Shooter Podcast I share the audio of my actual speech and some observations.\u00a0 Recorded late into the night and early morning I sing an Allman Brothers classic and change the words a little as I am accustomed to doing when the mood hits me.\u00a0 The Second Amendment March allowed me to get Michael Bane, Skip Coryell, Rich Heller, and radio personality \u201cMancow\u201d into my church at the same time.\u00a0 We will never be the same.\u00a0 This has been a phenomenal week.<\/p>\n[powerpress:http:\/\/traffic.libsyn.com\/urbanshooter\/162_-_DC_Second_Amendment_March.mp3]\n
