\"LOGO-2013-S&W-NER\"<\/a>BERRYVILLE, Ark. \u2013 Starting with the King of New England stages, organizers of the 2013 Smith & Wesson New England Regional IDPA Championship<\/a> are previewing all 14 stages of the course of fire<\/a> competitors will face at this year\u2019s championship.<\/p>\n

Sanctioned by the International Defensive Pistol Association (IDPA<\/a>), the New England Regional IDPA Championship will take place August 16-18 at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club in Harvard, Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

In addition to determining the regional champion in each of IDPA\u2019s five handgun competition divisions, the match also serves as the second leg of the newly established King of New England<\/a>, which is being presented by Apex Tactical Specialties. In June the 17th Annual Massachusetts State IDPA Championship, presented by Smith & Wesson, kicked off the series which concludes with New Hampshire\u2019s Smith & Wesson Live Free Or Die State IDPA Championship in October.<\/p>\n

Four stages from each of the three major New England championships make up the 12 stage challenge. Match Director Bob Biehl has selected the following stages as the New England Regional Championship\u2019s portion of the series:<\/p>\n

Stage 2 – Movie Theater<\/a>
\nStage 8 – Economic Breakdown<\/a>
\nStage 11 – Interrupting Your Nap<\/a>
\nStage 14 – Restaurant Beat Down<\/a>
\nStage 6 – I Want To Ride My Bike<\/a> (alternate)<\/p>\n

IDPA, which is the country\u2019s fastest growing shooting sport, has seen tremendous growth in the last few years fueled by the surging demand in concealed carry permits and the increasing need for personal protection. Such rapid growth has made competitions like the New England Regional extremely popular.<\/p>\n
