The first of the Bianchi Cup’s four core events is the Blade Tech Practical Event<\/h1>\n

\"BianchiCup1\"Columbia, Missouri<\/em> – The Bianchi Cup isn’t your regular pistol championship. It’s an action<\/em> pistol championship. Shooters need to be a little more mobile than in more classic “stand and shoot” competitions.<\/p>\n

The tournament for the silver cup trophy is comprised of four different matches: Practical, Barricade, Falling Plate and Moving Target. Over the years, however, new courses of fire have been added around the core matches like the Colt Speed Event, Celebrity Pro-Am and FNH 3-Gun Challenge.<\/p>\n

This year’s first event, Practical, is sponsored by Blade Tech. Made of up four segments, competitors start ten yards from two targets which turn to face the range for three seconds before turning away. During this time, shooters can fire once at each target. In the second segment, four rounds may be shot at each target over four seconds. In the third, three rounds at each target with their weak hand in eight seconds. (The strong hand may remove the pistol from its holster for transfer to the weak hand.)<\/p>\n

Everything is repeated at 15, 25, and 50 yards — time limits increasing with the distance. Well, not completely, weak-hand shooting is only done at the 10 yard line. Competitors must shoot from the standing position at 10 yards, but may opt to shoot prone at 15, 25, and 50 yards.<\/p>\n

The best possible score is 480-48x.<\/p>\n
