Crowd gathers to view trophies presented at 2012 NRA National Police Shooting Championship award ceremony<\/p><\/div>\n
Albuquerque, New Mexico<\/em> – The 2012 Awards Banquet for the National Police Shooting Championships started at 7:00 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Albuquerque. Packed to the gills with local, municipal, state and federal law enforcement officers, there were two things for certain; There’d be a number of trophies going home with Border Patrol Agents and Gunny R. Lee Ermey would bring the crowd to their feet.<\/p>\n Sure enough, members of the U.S. Border Patrol walked away with a majority of this year’s trophies. And when Gunny took the stage, well, it was pandemonium.<\/p>\n “It’s been five years we’ve been doing this,” Gunny told the crowd. “It’s got to the point where if I don’t show up, you guys are going to think I’m dead \u2014 so it’s mandatory that I appear.”<\/p>\n And to give the night an even more special touch, he performed his opening monologue from Full Metal Jacket<\/em>.<\/p>\n We’ll have scores and winners of the individual matches later, but for those of you wondering yes \u2014 Robert Vadasz won his fourth Grand Aggregate Championship.<\/p>\n R.
