Description:

The SUB-2000 is a self-loading carbine for pistol cartridges. The SUB-2000 has a greatly extended range compared to a handgun. The superior precision is also very useful against small or partially covered targets at shorter range. The amount of training to master the SUB-2000 is only a fraction of that required for a handgun.
The SUB RIFLE-2000 has been developed from our highly successful SUB 9 rifle. Although retaining some features of the old rifle, the SUB-2000 is a completely new design. Emphasis has been put on consumer safety, but without impeding the performance. Polymers are used to a large extent, resulting in increased durability and reduced price. The SUB-2000 is available in 9 mm Luger and .40 S&W.
The bolt can be locked in the rear position by the operating handle. The main safety is of protected push bolt type disconnecting the trigger bar and interlocking the hammer and sear. By rotating the barrel upwards and back, the SUB 2000 can be reduced to a size of 16" x 7" to facilitate secure storage and utilize the internal deployment lock which is operated by a proprietary key. The rear sight is of aperture type and the fluorescent front sight can be adjusted for windage and elevation. The SUB-2000 can easily be disassembled without tools for cleaning or inspection.

Very accurate, compact and foldable, light weight

|
Cons:
|
no factory provision for mounting lights or optics

This is a nice plinking short rifle, and with a 15 round magazine would be a good defensive weapon.
It is extremely accurate and light weight.
It uses Glock, S&W, and Berretta magazines (depending on caliber).
The one I have is a .40 S&W caliber and uses Glock 22 magazines, which are readily available.
It would make a good back up weapon in a patrol car as it is foldable and compact and can use the same magazines as a duty Glock 22.
I would not feel under-gunned with this rifle.
The one main negative aspect is that you can not use CCI Blazer (with aluminum casings) as they may impede extraction.
The only other detraction is there is no provision to mount optic or lights because it would interfere with the fold up capabilities.
The peep sight provided is very adequate, however.
All in all, it is a nice little shooter.

Front sight works but adjustment is primitive. Bolt doesn't stay open on last shot.

I love my sub 2k. I can fold and carry it in a 17" laptop case. Since it is a long gun I can take it to N.Y. state (not NY city) without risking a 7 year jail sentence. Once in a motel I can unfold, load and feel armed and safe. The gun is kept in my trunk and unloaded while traveling in liberal states. It handles easily and cleaning is no problem. I went to the KTOG (Keltec owners group ) online for advice on cleaning. It is a fun gun to shoot and much less costly than the AR15 I was thinking of buying. There are neat accessories available to make it an even better weapon.

I picked up this great light carbine post Obama, so I paid alot more then the other guy's. I am thoroughly satisfied with this little ugly duckling.
I ordered a few Khan brand 33 round g18 mags for my 9mm sub 2000 and they functioned perfectly. I really wanted a red dot on this, so I did some searching.... a guy on you tube has a video of how he used a heavy duty commercial self closing door hinge to make a swing out scope mount, I HAD to try it. The swing mount works perfect. when you fold the rilfe, you swing out the red dot and once the gun is folded you let the mount swing in on the folded weapon. in a pinch you can quickly unfold the rifle and let the mount snap into the ready position. I prefer to hold the red dot as I unfold and then gently let it settle in place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxeKzpK9OgI
