Pros:
Fullsize stock. Great shooter.
Cons:
Old magazine had many failures, but Remington has fixed the problem, and will send you a new mag if you still have one of the old ones.
I love this little .22!
This gun shoots great right out of the box, and I would put it up against almost any .22 out there for accuracy and dependability. I have put 1,500+ rounds through mine, and have had zero malfunctions. It shoots the cheap bulk ammo just as well as the high end stuff too.
Its a great gun for small game b/c the semi auto allows for quick follow up shots. I would suggest putting a nice little scope on it.
If you are looking into getting a .22 rifle, I highly recommend the 597
