Pros:
|
The flatest, lightest, full power 9mm there is.
|
|
Cons:
|
The grip bites the hand a bit and needs sanded in specific places.
|
|
This 9mm handgun fills a unique niche in the handgun market. Its weight and width make the PF-9 the easiest to conceal, full power gun I've ever owned. Most PF-9s require owner work to ensure reliability but this light labor is well worth the benefits the PF-9 brings to the table. I spent one hour doing a fluff and buff and the reward has been wonderful. With its added reliability, my PF-9 is my go to gun for CCW. In addition, the PF-9 is as accurate as it is reliable. If it's ever needed, the Customer Service and warranty is the best in the business. You can't go wrong with the PF-9.

Serious recoil, defective parts

After bragging on my 11 month old PF-9, I returned from the range today and noticed cracks on both sides of the slide at the ejection port. Can't tell you how disappointed this makes me, especially after having it Duracoated OD green to match the frame. Sending it back to Kel Tec. Less than 2000 rounds, mostly range ammo. Check yours often. Going back to the S&W.

Pros:

Warranty promptly honored

Cons:

Warranty so soon needed

My PF-9 is back after 20 days. New slide, internal upgrades, new mag. Although I did lose the investment of an OD green Dura-Coat job on the slide, I will give this a try (after a suitable break-in number of rounds) as my carry gun again. Just so dern easy to carry and 8 Speer Gold Dots do what they do quite well.
Mac.

I haven't shot it it a lot, but so far I'm very happy with it. Depending on weather I OC or CC with a Fobus paddle holster.

Mag Issue
|
|
About half way through the first box the mag started dropping down during recoil and failing to pick up the next round. After a good cleaning and another box if the problem continues I will return it to the factory for repairs.

Cons:

none now

I E-mailed the factory and they sent me new parts and the instructions to install them. The mag release was different then the original and it works like it should. Now after another trip to the range and 50 rounds trouble free it will be one of my carry guns. I was warned the first run from a new model from Kel Tec is likely to have problems but they soon get it right.
