I would be much more impressed if he pulled back the curtain and showed a modern Sig, or a Glock, or a AR-15 of any make.  The problem I have with most politicians (Fred included) is that they hide their support for the 2nd amendment in the right of hunters, not the right of free people to protect themselves and if need be overthrow the government and the framers of the constitution support.

I am absolutely pleased to know he is a gun collector, and someday it would be cool to own some of those old guns - but for me the right I aim to keep is the right to protect my (and my families) LIFE not just put meat on the table or have a cool display case.

Correction - one of TWO that will defend our rights.  I know this is a Fred Thompson forum - but he isn't the only one running that is a staunch defender of our 2nd Amendment rights.
