I know I've mentioned AmazonSmile on here before, and I've always been able to check my small impact and more on my account page. But I can't recall getting a statement like this email that Amazon.com sent me today.

If you're buying stuff at amazon.com anyway, go to smile.amazon.com and pick a charity you want 1/2% of the profits they make off you to go to. The last time I checked there were over 2,000 charities to choose from IIRC. I just searched for NRA, and NRA Foundation came up in the results. You get the same stuff from the same place for the same price, but you make a difference to a charity that you choose. Nearly $135 million worth of difference so far.

I got a similar statement showing my personal contributions to The Second Amendment Foundation.  In light of all the controversy over money issues at the NRA, the 2-A Foundation seems like a better alternative.  And, they do all the actual work that the NRA talks about.

The rabbit makes a good point. I didn't even look for the 2AF on there, but I think I'll change my charity soon before I forget. I need to see if Great Lakes Gun Rights is on there first. We had handgun (owner) registration here before they had it in some notoriously anti-gun states. I should keep more of my money here where it might do me more good.

I got one as well.
I didn't realize that there were now so many options to choose from. When I first signed up I selected St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

I thought they said 2,000 when I started using it around 2 1/2 years ago, but I'm dain bramaged  from too many blows to the head. :(

I'm thinking that "Rastus's Community Health, Welfare & Public Trust Geriatric Contribution Fund For The Reform, Rehabilitation & Relaxation Of Pre-lost & Post-found Ordnance Owners" should be included as a non-profit.
