Congress trying to outlaw buying gun parts

H.R.7115, the 3D Firearms Prohibitions Act, would prohibit the sale, acquisition, distribution in commerce, or import into the United States of certain firearm receiver castings or blanks, assault weapon parts kits, and machinegun parts kits and the marketing or advertising of such castings or blanks and kits on any medium of electronic communications, to require homemade firearms to have serial numbers, and for other purposes. They would all be considered Banned Hazardous Products. Nothing in this Act shall be construed as limiting the ability of a State to enact more restrictive gun-related laws, or bans on firearm receiver castings, firearm receiver blanks, assault weapon parts kits, or machinegun parts kits.

For purposes of this Act the term “assault weapon parts kit” means any part or combination of parts designed and intended to enable a consumer who possesses all such necessary parts to assemble a semiautomatic assault weapon. No more buying spare parts or customizing your semi-auto rifles and pistols that are included in this act online.

This would also bring an end to gunsmithing without an 07 FFL.  Get ready, because if this passes the same will quickly come for all reloading supplies.

There is enough money in after market  gun parts too take this too the supreme court.

Guns & ammunition manufacturing in the US has grown to reach $17 billion in revenue in 2018 so far. The NSSF estimates that the industry’s total economic impact – which includes supplier revenue and wages paid in addition to gun sales – was $51.4 billion in 2017. I don't know how much of that is replacement parts, upgrades, etc., but with that kind of money at stake they aren't going to take it lying down.
