I saw an ad for the new Keanu Reeves movie, Replicas. It's coming to theaters on January 11, about 3 weeks after I saw that it was posted online for free. It's rated 5.6/10 at IMDb so it may be worth seeing but not paying to see. Wikipedia says it was sold after a private screening at the Toronto International Film Festival to Entertainment Studios for $4 million. It must have been made on a shoestring budget if they sold it for $4 million. Here are 2 previews at IMDb. It sounds interesting but I'm still too far behind on my TV to watch it.

Christian Bale stars as Dick Chaney in the movie VICE.  The role recently won him a Golden Globe Award.  In his acceptance speech he made it a point to thank Satan for providing his role model for the part.

I'm thinking it's time to stop paying for movies when the proceeds support this kind of evil idiocy.

Dick Cheney wasn't perfect in every way, but he wasn't Satan either.

In 1977 the movie The Car came out and became a cult classic. Now, 42 years later there's a sequel, but it's not really a sequel according to some of the people who saw it. Most of them say it's not very good and some said the car isn't as scary either. And some said it's more like Christine than The Car. It sounds like a waste of time.

John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum is coming out May 17th. It's been awhile since I've seen a good shoot-em-up. This should be a good one. Si vis pacem, para bellum.

Saw an entertaining movie for a change.  Came out of the theater thinking I got a decent return on the ticket price.  What could this possibly be, you may ask.  The film is titled Stan and Ollie, and is the story of Laurel and Hardy, a comedic couple a few of you oldsters out there may remember.

John C. Riley plays Oliver Hardy (while wearing a fat suit) and someone whose name I did not recognize plays Stanley Laurel and both are superb.  The have even managed to mimic the voices and comedic timing to near perfection.  And a couple of the dance scenes are just as I remember from Saturday afternoons in my youth.

The film showcases several of the original skits, but then goes behind the scenes to look at the personal aspect of the comedic duo.  Let me just say it was not all as it appeared on screen.

Anyway, it's an excellent flick that you wouldn't be embarrassed taking your wife to see.

Wow....sounds great, CR...   I enjoyed them often.

I saw a show about them years ago and one of the topics was Stan's "Slow Take".  They described it as it seemed like you saw him realize whatever it was one brain cell at a time.
