Wednesday there was just enough snow to know that some fell. The top of my truck was still mostly visible with white polka dots of snow. It didn't take long for that to disappear, and Thursday was even better. I haven't checked the weather but the last forecast I saw for the weekend didn't look good.

It's only 4 degrees right now but it didn't feel nearly that cold when I went out to get my mail. There's a wind chill advisory until noon Saturday but it will take at least 1/2 hour to get frostbite. Then we'll have a heatwave.   8)   It's supposed to get up to the 40s next week and the week after. It might rain Thursday starting at midnight Wednesday night. I don't especially like rain but at least I won't have to shovel it.

I don't believe I've shaved in 2 or 3 years but haven't been keeping track. I sometimes get my beard trimmed when I get a haircut, but almost always let it grow out in the winter. This is the first winter I recall having short hair in a long time. There's no neck warmer growing on the back of my head this year. I had long hair in the winter and short hair in the summer for a long time, then went a couple of summers without a buzz cut. For the past year I've kept it short year round. It's easier to keep it one length all year and short hair is the easiest. I only need a fraction of the shampoo I used when it was longer, so that's a plus. I look at my hair in the mirror when I get up and think yeah, that's good enough. All I have to do is comb out my beard or it gets a couple of weird curls in it. I can't remember the last time I had ice in my beard.
