Chris Christie's wife showed up at my local coffee shop yesterday.
She raised 3 points 1) He's put 138 legislators in jail for corruption
2) The reason you don't hear about the recovery from that storm "Sandy", is because it went smoothly, much more so than in NY so there wasn't anything to report.
In answer to a question from a friend of mine, She pointed out that as bad as NJ is for gun owners, he has veto'd a bunch of anti gun laws.
I still won't vote for him, but maybe he isn't quite the POS I thought.

Some one told me Bernie was down the street, but since I didn't have spare money for bail I skipped that one.

These people who claim to be able to "Work with the Dems", "build consensus" or "compromise" disgust me for 3 reasons.
1) The popularity of Trump, and Bernie shows that BOTH parties are sick to death of moderates .
2) "Compromise means taking a good idea and adding enough stupidity so that it won't work.
3) Moderates are people who have no principles they will fight for, they stand for nothing but re-elelction.

I don't want to see either Christie or Sanders elected - but on the 2nd amendment, Sanders is a lot better than Clinton and may even be better  than Christie.....

Christie is out. Old news. Personally I don't think any of this bull$hit concerning Trump is going to matter in the least. This regardless of how much Cruz, Rubio, and Bush badmouth him. Democrats are either playing dumb, or else looking the other way with their fingers crossed. But the fact of the matter is the FBI is going to come down with a whole truck load on the Hildabeast. James Comey isn't taking this long to conduct an investigation, with over 150 agents working this case around the clock, because he isn't finding anything that's incriminating her.

Either way she's fuc*ed. At worst she'll be indicted and go to trial. At best Lynch won't prosecute, and then the media and the FBI will go nuts. Either way she's toast. The political repercussions will destroy her entire political campaign. (It's already suffering badly, and on life support). Young women can't stand her, and a nut case 74 year old socialist is beating the sh!t out of her as we speak. The black vote won't save her worthless ass because they are only 13% of the population. And a minuscule amount of them even bother to vote. And even if they to, Sanders is stroking them better than she can by promising them more free stuff, and letting as many of them out of jail as he can.

They will be forced to either bring in Joe "gaff a minute" Biden, or else concede the election to the Republicans. At that point it won't matter, because the Republicans could run an Arab taxi cab driver and win.

The media is avoiding all of this, except for Fox, because they don't want to fan a fire that's been smoldering for months. But just ask yourself how well you would be sleeping at night, if you had 150 FBI agents looking up your ass with a microscope? (They had less than 30 tracking John Dillinger, and we all saw what happened to him). And they're not going to walk away because, "she is Hillary". Even Obama doesn't want that much smelly sh!t attached to his "legacy". This is going to be better to watch than an all nude woman cage fight.

Since the subject is Christi I qualify as an expert, living in the lousy state of NJ.
Christi is or was, in my opinion, a good prosecutor, AG, whatever. I think he would make a good attorney general for the US. Not president though...he's a bit slimy when it comes to his own future.

He has done some other things in NJ that have not endeared him to many, in particular messing with the pension system. I'm not an expert on it but as I understand it the thing is bloated and underfunded and about to collapse, and he has tried to get concessions from labor. Of course, whatever the actual facts, according to many he's a no good SOB for all that.

On gun rights, he is iffy, but it's absolutely true that he has vetoed a bunch of shitty gun crap laws from our arrogant democrat legislature. Swats them down like flies, but I think it's mostly because EVERYONE knows our legislature is about 90% flaming assholes and so he was scoring points.  The fact is, though, he has never been an advocate FOR gun rights.

All academic since he's dropped out, although maybe not if Trump appoints him AG. He could help us.

Bill, I hope to goodness you're right on this.  Scares me to think she might slip through the cracks as she has so many times before.  Going all the way back to Arkansas, she has been a malevolent opportunist.  I think there is likely complicity in Vince Foster's demise.  Certainly she scammed the system with her modest investment in cattle futures that returned a bazillion percent.  And the Clinton Foundation is simply a corrupt money laundering machine.  Still, she walks around a free woman.

And all that is without mentioning her lousy moral compass.  She repeatedly came down hard on the multitude of women her husband raped or sodomized, and she dragged them through the mud until they had little or no credibility.

The woman is a harridan, a liar, a cheat and quite possibly a murderer.  Her mishandling of classified documents has placed the entire country at risk, cost the lives of Ambassador Stevens and the Benghazi contingent, and will likely cost the loves of covert operatives whose names have been made available to those who would do them harm.

And with all that, she is still walking around and the press remains on her side.

Maybe you are right, Bill.  I truly hope you are.  But it won't come as a big surprise to see her remain unscathed and unpunished.

That's OK, the Dems could still draft Biden or Elizabeth (granny told me I'm Indian) Warren.
But, the last time a live Dem was followed by another dem was 1857 so the odds are against them.
