Hey Alf;

Chris Edwards from Glock and I have been talking about my sad, pathetic inability to shoot Glocks the way they should be shot. During my rehab, I'm going to be working on a bunch of stuff, but in the spring (after the knee replacement), I'm going over to Atlanta to spend a couple of days with Chris with some pretty intense training. Something you might be interested in joining me?

I'd love to!    I'm half way out the door now to meet you at their offices!

I have cleaned one GSSF match with my G17, but I can't shoot the G34 worth beans.

Glocks feel funny to me, but I shoot them pretty well (at least, for my shooting skills, which are not impressive).
I got the blues as my companion.

Practice is paying off.   Today was light only about 350 rounds, all on plates.  I did practice some drawing from holster but mostly from low ready.   Half of the practice is just on the first shot.    Then about a quarter on 3 shots, then the last quarter on 6 shots.  No make up shots for this practice.    Generally I try to get in 5 or so run throughs where I will do makeup shots.

3 compete runs toward the end under 4.50 seconds!    Yeah-h-h-h-h.   Progress.   Here's my best run.  Also am very proud my first shot was under 1.10.   Generally I've been running just under 1.5.

The next GSSF match in my area is in 3 weeks at CMP in Taledaga, AL.  An inaugural match for them..

Looking good Alf!  Do you have any Steel Challenge groups in your area?  I have never shot an actual Steel Challenge, but I find that steel shooting, like Rio Salado's Tuesday Night Steel and the Pro-Am, is good training and practice for improving smooth transitions and building speed.

Hey Alf:

When you and Michael go to the Glock offices see if you can con them into letting you shoot a MOS model . I am hoping to get a G-41 MOS but am wondering about taller front and rear sights so they can be seen though the reflex sight.

Alf, are these open to public spectators? I might try to come watch if they are.

I've never seen, at a  match closed to spectators.  I can imagine that there are some, maybe held on military bases.

I know nothing about this Taledega facility but I'm fairly positive GSSF would want as many interested parties in attendance, shooting or not as possible.

It was raining this week, but I still got ~300 rounds down range.  I managed to set the camera on top of a barrel with the trash can lid on top to keep it dry for my last couple of run throughs.  Here's my best.   Not terribly fast, but steady and smooth.   Not with the G17 but with the 686 revolver.

If you listen you can hear the rain.   My Pact timer quit working.  I thought it was the battery, but when I got home and dried it out, worked fine.  Must have been the moisture.
