It's how I proved myself useful, often, when I worked in Corporate America. Little things like product placement, checking what's in the background, and stepping back from the minutia and thinking "what's that say to the average reader/viewer? To the sophisticated reader?"
Problem is, you point out enough of these "nits" to executives and wanna-be executives and they don't like having you around. Then when there's a boo-boo, they want you to fix it... yesterday.
