Yes, Glock has missed the boat again (http://www.downrange.tv/forum/index.php?topic=2105.0). Gun crafters has has done for Glock what the .45 GAP was supposed to do by introducing a .50 Glock conversion for the Glock 20/21:

http://www.footpounds.com/weblog/?p=384

For $2,800 $595.00 you get a complete upper that allows conversion to .50 GI factory loads - thats 300gr @ 720 fps and 275gr at 890 fps.

BTW: All my shooting buddies can attest that back when Glock came out with the .45 GAP I said they should have put their time and efforts into a .50 instead. Why in the hell they tried to replace the most perfect caliber for personal defense with a dumbed down version is beyond me. However, the .50 is a logical progression, and proves to have a measurable improvement in stopping power.

While a 50 GI G21 intrigues me I'm more apt to put the money down on a 45 GAP  G37 that fits my hand better.  The 21SF is much better and 45 ACP and 45 GAP ammo is much easier to obtain than 50 GI is.  I can actually BUY those loads locally without reloading or special ordering it.

How is the 45 GAP "dumbed down"?
The bullet weights (155, 185, 200 gr) and velocities (around 750-1000 depending on bullet) are similar to ACP, at least in my reloading data book (Hodgdon).  Yes it doesn't list the 230 gr GAP, but for me it isn't a big deal since I usually shoot 185s or 200s.

I'd listen to TAB. I mean, he must know his stuff on this subject - his current avatar is obviously successful at stuffing extra ammo in a standard container.

That's no moon, thats a space station!  Shocked

So how long until it kabooms?

Wonderin' the same thing. I've got 2,000 yen on less than one box any takers?

I should get one for my GLOCK 30. Grin

If you want a 2 round capacity pistol I think a 45 colt derringer would be better suited.  Cheesy

I think you hurt Hawk's feelings Wink

Update: MSRP for the upper is only $595.00 not the earlier advertised $2,800.00

That price point might make the purchase decision a little easier!
