I've been searching in vain for a full upper or even a conversion kit.  Just like me, everyone wants them to keep shooting during the .223/5.56 ammo shortage.

they had some in the $200 range for the whole setup at Palmetto Armory. Don't know if there are any left.

Been out for a while.  They are one of the vendors I visit on my daily rounds.

It's a shame that these shortages have now even impacted the .22 world.  .22 ammo is even getting scarce.

How much are you willing to pay?  Any preference?  I'm going to a gs this weekend and might be able to find something.  PM me and let me know.

if you get  a .22lr drop in for your .223/5.56 expect mediocre accuracy... my CMMG got no better than 3 1/2" at 50y with a variety of ammunition... if you go with a dedicated .22lr upper (I chose a CMMG dedicated .22lr barrel and charging handle, and BCM upper  with an ARMS forend off a prize table) then you will get  a pretty accurate 3/8" at 35y shooting rifle... a worthwhile addition with either choice is a spacer to allow the recoil spring to actually apply forward pressure to the conversion drop in.... 15minutes with a lathe and some scrap aluminum..

Thanks.  I'm looking for a dedicated upper, preferably from TacSol, for the very reasons Les pointed out.  I may have a one lined up, but if that falls though, I'll let you know by Friday.  Thanks!

THanks guys, I found one locally at a little hardware store! A S&W P&P 15-22 Cali. compliant stock (or it was!)  ;), had to give $500 for it and wait for some 25 round mags from Midway (backordered).
Best Wishes, Mike.

I was able to get a S&W 15-22 performance model about 6 months ago, expensive, but fun.
Hung a scope on it, shoots OK, getting better.
Like all 22 rimfires, it likes one or two ammos, and definately not cheap stuff.
S&W says no to a list of ammo brands, listed in the manual.  CCI stingers  no because of the longer case, and the performance chamber.
Mt grandkids love it as well.  I had an extra Gieselle dynamic trigger, and that fixed a 6 # trigger.
lots of fun, but still love my lr-308.
