FNAR 7.62x51mm
« on: April 23, 2008, 01:19:48 PM »
Anyone know anything about the new FNH FNAR yet? It looks pretty great:

I don't know how the accuracy or dependability is of this rifle yet, but it looks like a promising venture. FNH is promising 1 MOA or better.
Everything I needed to learn in life I learned from Country Music.

That all?  The new generation of 7.62 piston AR (POF, LWRC) have been around .5 MOA, and most others are at .75MOA.

What's the advantage of this rifle other than the removable magazine?  Who or what is it designed for?

Maybe FN is taking a page out of HK's book and producing whatever the heck they want, because after all they know better than we do, and besides, they don't like us civilians.

Now I'm confused, I was told this rifle was based of the Browning BAR and not a piston driven AR-10.  ???

Probably don't need to think about it, too rich for my blood anyway.

I think he meant that the piston guns were already doing what this rifle, no matter how operated, was claiming.
My GUESS is that it's for people who want a semi auto .308 without a typical EBR

Makes sense, I've heard that some agencies don't allow AR-15s so they use Mini 14s instead.

Actually, they really aren't all that high dollar. Gander had them at under $1500. You can easily pay this for a standard AR. The problem is that they don't use the old FN surplus mags and instead demand proprietary mags as at about $70 a pop. >:( Hoever I'll give ya'll a full report when I win mine! ;D
