Yes, I remember him and his word was very respected.  This is almost profitic!  And he said it in 1965!  Be sure you hear this!!!
 
 
Do you remember the famous ABC radio news commentator Paul Harvey?
Millions of Americans listened to his programs which were broadcast over 1,200 radio stations nationwide.
The following commentary was broadcast 47 years ago.... April 3, 1965.
I hope you will listen to this. It's short...less than 3 minutes.

Notice especially what he said in 7 seconds, from 1:57 to 2:04 in the broadcast.

My grandmother (rest her soul) used to listen to PH every day religiously.  We spent summers with her and I vividly recall his episodes on the radio (granted this was the 70s/80s). 

That was probably the most eerie, foretelling thing I've heard in a while.  Sad but true.

My father took me to see Paul Harvey when I was graduating from high school -- in 1965, when this program was recorded.  I always knew that I admired Harvey for being a straight-shooter, one who could sort the wheat from the chaff.  What I never realized but do now ..... how much he could see into the future.  We're in BIG trouble.  We'd better HOPE for some CHANGE!  Where have all the dependable commentators gone?  Right now, we'll have to rely on FOX News....

In 1965 I was T minus 6 years and counting and having been born in the summer of 1971 I grew up with Paul Harvey's voice on the radio from time to time and in the mid-90s heard him everyday.  Then one day he was gone for a spell only to return to my relief (and many others).  A wise, articulate man that told it like it was and is.  The slide of these United States had begun before 1965 because Paul already saw those things invading our society so when did it start?  Anne Coulter has said it could have started with women's suffrage (1920), conservatives believe it started with FDRs New Deal (1933) and liberals don't see a damn thing wrong.

I spent a little time on the GA Tech campus in '66 & '67 and at 12:30 (or was it 12:15) everyday, things would come to a halt.  You didn't need to have your own radio as everyone would turn their's up loud enough to hear.    I remember especially the "post office", where many students would congregate and listen to the broadcast.

It actually started around the 1880's when European socialist immigrants began organizing labor unions.
The things they started off with may have been needed, such as child labor laws , but to the socialists they were just stepping stones to to the eventual demise of the American Republic.

Here's another look at it.
Those kids in sweat shops were helping support their families.
What happened when they were no longer allowed to do so ?
They became dependent on "social programs".
Remember, the Russian Revolution began with the slogan, "Land, Peace, Bread," and ended with the Ukrainian famine and the Gulag.
