Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc. (NYSE: RGR), announces the LC9™, a lightweight, compact 9mm pistol for discreet carry by law abiding citizens, or a full-power, no-compromise backup for off-duty law enforcement officers. This highly requested pistol was developed through Ruger’s Voice of the Customer program and incorporates the features and rugged reliability desired by Ruger customers. http://www.downrange.tv/blog/ruger-introduces-lc9-lightweight-compact-9mm-pistol/7966/

Now THAT looks like a great idea considering todays gun market.

I've looked at the LCP and found it a bit too small for my meathooks. I've also been checking out the SR9C more and more lately but can't commit...now this comes along! If Ruger pulled it off well it might become the next toy on the list.

That is EXACTLY what I want

About a month ago when MB hinted about the new Ruger I was the first to say it was gonna be a 9mm LCP.  Does that mean I win one? ;D

Hey, somebody stamped Ruger on my PF-9... ;D

Gotta say that I'm a bit skeptical right now.  Ruger has really disappointed me with all the recalls of late on their new pistols.  In fact, my SR9c has the "light primer strike" problem that has officially bumped it out of contention as a carry piece -- a quick Google search shows that this is a very common issue.

Robb Allen has a pretty funny blog post at "Sharp as a Marble" that snarks that Ruger has made the unprecendented move of recalling the LC9 prior to releasing it for sale...just to get a jump on things.

Until this pistol is proven, I wouldn't trust my life to it.

I am sure it well sell like hotcakes.  But, I really miss the days when guns where steel and wood.  Tupperware just does not turn me on!   After all the hoopla about this gun, I feel let down.  I was hoping for either a 1911, a SR-45, or what I really wanted, and probably the biggest long shot, XGI rifles that actually hit dealers shelves.  For those too young to remember, the XGI was a Mini 14 type gun in .308.  Ruger scraped that project because it would not come "up to Rugers accuracy standards."  The way the Mini 14 shoots, I would hate to see how bad that gun shot if it did not come up to Rugers accuracy standards!

You and me both!   Ever since the LCP came out in .380 (I won't carry a .380), I've hoped Ruger would take the next step.

So, you come out with the first full-length review?  ;D

It looks like this year is the "Year of the Pocket 9mm" now with Ruger and Sig (along with the current Keltec PF-9 and Kahr PM9) announcing small 9mm handguns.  I may have to sell my LCP and get an LC9.
