While prices weren't through the roof, I'm still sensing they were higher than usual.  Panic buying, maybe?

Just watching for my lot to go by.

Three Whitney Wolverines.    The first one went for $1,100.

Several on Gunbroker right now.  Including a nickel plated one with a box.  Supposedly 500 or less of those made.

Hadn't really seen a lot of interesting things lately.   The upcoming RIA event in September is way over priced for me.  And not anything I really need.   Looking at the higher priced items for fun this one does have a number of gems.

Two Whitney's this one with original matching box.  $1,500+

For you knife lovers how about a J. Russel & Co 6" long spear point presented to Theodore Roosevelt for use on his African safaris?   With documentation ~$200,000

If that's not rich enough for you.  Pistol fans will jump at this:

Historic Hermann Goering Presentation Walther Factory Engraved and Gold Plated PPK Semi-Automatic Pistol with Carved Grips, Personalized Ring and Cuff Links.  $300,000+  I'd bid on it, but it's in 7.65 and I don't need another caliber to keep up with.

Finally for you rifle fans.   Magnificent, Iconic and Historic Presentation Cased Conrad F. Ulrich Twice Signed Masterpiece: The Three Graces Winchester Deluxe Model 1866 Musket Originally Owned By U.S. Senator Thomas Witherell Palmer.   I wonder if you could use this in SASS. Let's guess around $350,000

Fancy and collectable guns have been on of the best performing investments of the last 10 or 20 years.
If you want to diversafy your portfolia skip gold and get a Holland and Holland.

And yes, I still check out RIAuctions.

There are a pair of S&W 629 DX models.   Given the 15% fee, I could only see my way to $750ea on these.  I've really wanted to upgrade my 629 to a DX style.   f I win I'll be selling both my current -1 in 8-3/8" and the one that comes with this lot. Just keeping the 6" one.

About 20 items in the 6 digits.  Including an Engraved Winchester Deluxe Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle owned by Captain Jack Crawford and then Gifted to Fellow Western Scout and Poet James Barton Adams  Also a Winchester Deluxe Model 1895 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine Presented by Buffalo Bill (William F. Cody) to Deadwood Businessman and Friend M.R. "Gold Nugget Mike/Deadwood Mike" Russell with Factory Letter.   Documentation provided in both cases.

About the cheapest lot is a Colt New Service Double Action Revolver, Documented Shipped to New York's Sing Sing Prison.   Under $800.

And, I'm back.

Upcoming RIA action in 2 weeks, is pretty run-of-the-mill.   The highest priced items are Henry, New Haven and Winchester lever actions.

Of course, in case you're wondering, for my retirement party you guys can get me a pair of High Standard Crusaders.   Just such a pair are up for auction.   Matching s/n's.  Of course one is 44M and the other 45LC.

I picked out 5 lots I was interested in.   Two of them contained Camp Carbines and the other 3 had S&W revolvers.   I checked to see what the pre-bids were over at ProxiBid and decided they wanted too much money.

I did however find Jeff Dobson Auctions in NW GA had a S&W M66 (no-dash w/ stainless rear sight) up for auction and I put down $400.  Silly me.  There's 18% bidder fee plus the sales tax.  But I also bid $160 on a 10/22.  I've wanted a beater to rebuild, for a while.  Maybe this will be it.
