My dog~~
« on: December 29, 2009, 09:41:32 PM »
My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day.
She has her food prepared for her.
She can eat whenever she wants, 24/7/365.
Her meals are provided at no cost to her.
She visits the Dr. once a year for her checkup,
and again during the year if any medical needs arise.
For this she pays nothing, and nothing is required of her.
She lives in a nice neighborhood in a house
that is much larger than she needs,
but she is not required to do any upkeep.
If she makes a mess, someone else cleans it up.
She has her choice of luxurious places to sleep.
She receives these accommodations absolutely free.
She is living like a queen, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever.
All of her costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day.
I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head,

Holy Shit,...........   :o  my dog is a democrat!

Damn!!!  I've got two sleeping on my couch right now.  I guess it is possible to love a Dem  ;)

P.S.

Mine have also just gotten a reprieve from three full days in their little kennels because the in-laws have been here with urchins that are afraid of puppies ... Does this add to the list under "parole?"

My dog hunts.
He helps me bloodtrail. He catches his own pigs to help feed his "pack".
My dog is not scared of gunfire.
He perks up when he sees me in camo heading for the gun safe in the garage.
He understands the word "hunt" and treats it as a command.
He guards the wife and the house while I'm away.
He provides companionship and entertainment.
For that I feed him (venison and pork), train him, exercise him, clean up after him, and take him to the vet.
My dog is a good judge of character.
He ignores whinging baby talking people who try to pet him without permission ( his or mine).
He has no tolerance for unbalanced, poorly raised dogs. Especially the curs who try to mount him at the dog park. He has a special trick for those dogs.
My dog is a conservative. 105 lbs of lean, strong, scary smart Rhodesian Ridgeback.

They're typical over protected, pampered, "I'm special", yuppie spawn ... The brats, not the puppies  >:(

Doesn't help that Belle the "bunny puker" (German Shorthair)  is six years going on two months, and Red the supper lab (Yellow Lab) is seven months old and learning calmness from "speedy."    These two have never been exposed to pets, and two curious dogs that just want to play weren't their idea of cute ... I loved it!  Oh well, the kids are gone, and this morning I heard Belle tell Red "See, I told you we'd get our house back ... come over by the fire, it's nice and warm in here  ;)

OKAY, mine has all that, BUT, she provides
Unconditional love
Lowers the blood pressure of anyone who pets her
Entertains us with her antics
Is a great (too great) early warning for intruders, even next door
AND SHE SAVED THE HOUSE FROM BURNING DOWN.

She's earned her keep.

My dog was a Republican.  She kicked up pheasants, retrieved pheasants and ducks.  Kept the passenger seat of my old pickup from showing less wear than the driver's seat, cleaned up all the leftovers, washed the dishes, took care of me when I was sick, met me at the door each night with a MUCH more excited demeanor than any other woman in my life EVER has, and protected us against all enemies, foreign and domestic (better than I can say of our current POTUS).

The girl earned her keep.
I love waking up every morning knowing that Donald Trump is President!!

Had a cat for 17 years.  Toward the end the poor old gal looked like hell and smelled worse.  I hadn't realized it at the time, but she was doing a darned credible impression of Harry Reid. ;)

My outstanding dog has a regular job guarding the homestead and looking out for the Missus.  He does it well without complaining.  He won't get in my face if I don't get in his.  But he will kick some serious butt if he thinks me or momma are threatened.  He askes for very little and gives a lot.  I guess he's a Libertarian
