Bought a Liberty gun safe. The combination is.....
« on: December 17, 2009, 12:18:47 PM »
... Yeah, right. Like I'm gonna tell you guys that!  ;D

Its the Centurion model, and its just the small one (14 gun capacity)....... but its really all I need for probably the next 5-10 years. Got it at Lowes. They had it on sale for $100 off and then I got 10% off that too................... $283 out the door. The kids are getting to the age now where we got to lock up the long guns.... and hopefully it will at least slow down a burglar if it ever comes to that. Now I just got to get it up a flight of stairs and bolted down. Yikes..... that ought to be fun!

Be sure to bolt it down! Those models aren't to heavy and can be carted off by a couple of fair sized criminals!!

You'll find out who your friends really are when you ask for volunteers to get that beast up the stairs.   ;D

I had one just like it for my first safe. I think I paid something like $350 for it in 97'. It was supposed to hold 11 long guns, I had something like 20 rifles + pistols when I finally up graded to 45 cu. ft model a couple years ago. 8) Be careful you don't out grow it to fast!  ;) That would be a terrible thing, NOT ;D

We did that when I was in grad school. Three of us rented this rat trap house. Before we moved in our stuff, we invited everyone we knew to a "theme party", the only thing we said was to dress grubby to befit our new home. What they didn't realize until they got there was that the "theme" was "paint our house". ;D About 20 people showed up. Given that we provided a keg and a smoked turkey as well as a bunch of rollers and paint buckets and brushes, the whole thing took about an hour. We then got sloshed and fat on turkey.

250 lbs?  I think my TV weighs more than that.  Bolt that one down in the bedroom.  When you outgrow it, it can stay there as the bedroom gunlocker with the "collectibles" in the big one in the basement.

Somebody tried to GIVE me a security firedoor one time and I was stupid enough to pass it up.  I could have a WALK IN saferoom for the cost of a couple concrete walls in my basement.  STUPID.
"Why are you carrying a pistol?  Expecting trouble?"

"No Maam.  If I was expecting trouble, I'd have a rifle."
