So Haz got me thinking and yes, I will give it to him that the Hi-Point is probably the best hand gun for $150...... But what are your opinions on what would be the best handgun for under $100??? Do they even still exist??? I know you would probably have to go the route of a used gun, but I am very interested in hearing the opinions on this and the war stories of guns practically "stolen" at gun shows.

Probably an H&R .38 revolver.
-
PA 63 in 9mm Mak, $99 from www.jgsales.com
Of course if revolvers are your thing, Nagants go for $79
-
Tom, I got this one for $50.00 does that count? ;D ;D

11 years ago. I bought a nickel/chrome Davis .380, yes the "little" gangsta version for $91.87, It worked great and never FTFire. The ex-wife ended up with it, because once on a Tuesday, with a full moon, during a high tide, when the planets were in alignment, wearing dark socks, I said she should always have a pistol,... :-X :P
Now the company name is Cobra, same pistol,... But it works, sad but true, for $91.87 , saw one at the last gun show for $129.00, some have for $150.

Odd to say, but this little pistol just worked, may have been cheap, not one on the top of the list, but maybe I got lucky with different ammo as well..
Hard to pin a SD pistol for less than $100 these days,..Of course, just my .02 cents

Under 100 I would say the Nagant.

If that's a Bond, don't tell MB what you paid ;D

SOG has the PA-63 Makarov for 99.95 each IF you buy two or more.
The 7.62 Nagant is 69.95, the Hi Point .380 is 89.95 and the Hi Point 9mm is 99.95. Firestorms in .32 and .380 for 94.95 to 99.95 and derringers starting at 89.95
-
twyacht, I have one of those Davis .380's, fun to play with but I won't carry it. I bought it brand new at a gun show for $50.

McGyver, I completely understand, it was just one of those things I bought at a gun show as well. Should have bought the Norinco SKS 7.62x39 out of the crate, with matching numbers,. for $99.00 back than. Like 2 or 3 of them. :P

Yeah, the SKS was probably the most recent "best gun under $100". Too bad they cant be had for that now.
As far as long guns are concerned...... New England Firearms makes a single shot shotgun that can be had for under $100........ Their 12 ga. single shot was my first scatter gun, and it has served me well.

Seen the high points, but don't know anyone who has one or shot one.
Would they be a good starter gun?
Or just junk? ::)

I was jealous the last time you showed off your .357 Bond for that price and I'm still jealous today. ;)

Not new, but picked up a North American Arms mini revolver in 22mag at a garage sale. The executor of an estate just wanted to get rid of it and clear the estate. It was loaded, and he didn't know how to unload it. Said if I could unload it he would sell it for $10.00. Great deep concealment piece if you have nothing else and your in deep and close.

Well bought!

It's not the best by any means, but the only guns I evr had under $100 were Jennings .22s at $60 brand new. They had almost no rifling but were great fun little plinkers. I had one that had a bulged barrel because of an ammo problem, and Federal bought me a new gun. I shot that one until it was worn out. You could buy enought Jennings .22s for the whole family cheaper than you could buy one Walther TPH which is what I really wanted. I have a Yugo budget and Cadillac taste.

I had one of those, Guy sold it to me for $20 because it would not chamber a round. I used a round file to remove the burr his dry firing had pushed into the chamber and sold it for $60 ;D
Another $20 deal was a guy at work had a "380" that didn't work, He said "it's such a peice of crap I'm going to throw it away" I offered him $20 and wound up with a like new Accu Tek that worked perfectly after I turned the saftey the right way, sold that for $90 ;D

I think in this day and age any handgun under $100.00 is not worth it. Any handgun under $250 is.

That's your opinion, and you are entitled to it, but I hope I'm around to pick up some of the good guns you will pass on because they don't cost enough. ;D

Maybe we should do a "Best handgun under $250" thread.... it would be interesting.
