Left the EBR in the car.

Do you know what day this was aired. If it was run yesterday it might be News. If it was on Dec. 15 as it appears it's just burred news.

It will be a while before the official report is released but I think this is just a case of "confused" early reporting.  There were also reports that the floor was littered with .223/5.56 casings.

Not that the truth is going to change outcry from the left.

You have heard of Occam's razor where given two possible explanations for something chances are the simplest one is probably the truth or correct?

There is a Hanlon's razor which states never attribute to malice that which is explained by stupidity.

I really do believe that some media really are that incompetent.

In addition to trying to beat each other out for whatever available news scoop they now have to contend with facebook and twitter.  They'd rather be first with anything than accurate.

I heard this line probably back in the 80's:  "if it bleeds, it leads!"

It was a media-gasm of the highest order.

All that said, there are a few things that make me go "hmmnn..." or just plain creep me out:

1.  The father's demeanor prior to giving his first press conference

2.  The father's demeanor at the memorial service back in Utah

3.  The medical examiner's awkward laugh's

4.  The head LEO saying at the press conference that if you are spreading lies on social media that they will prosecute you.

There are others and I am sure I have at least touched on them in my tinfoil hat thread.

The dateline on website says Dec 15.  That is one day after the shooting.

So why is all of the obviously false information still being perpetuated?  Hmmmm.

The only evidence we have that it really happened is the word of the media .

On another forum they're saying that was the flawed report that came out right after the incident, that the EBR was the murder weapon. I'd sure like to see the results of the investigation before banning stuff.  Speaking of which, did you notice how right after the incident the phrase was "reasonable gun control"? Have you noticed how they've already dropped "reasonable" from that phrase?
It's a libitard feeding frenzy. Anyone I speak to about it I tell them that if their contribution to the conversation is simply to screech about "gun control", they are cynical, disrespectful, uninformed, and being herded like sheep. They do a disservice to the victims by not addressing the real problems.

So now what? Are they going to ban "Assault Pistols"? ???

The head LEO saying at the press conference that if you are spreading lies on social media that they will prosecute you.

So I guess we can count on him to assure us that everything we read on the Internet is true? Just where is it they'll be building this new prison that houses over 100,000,000 inmates, after they prosecute all of these liars?  ???

According to the video the rifle never left the car. Yet their were reports of .223 casings and empty magazines on the floor of the school. So what's the final verdict? Did he use a AR-15, or leave it in the car and kill everyone with handguns?? This is confusing.

Typical media:  They will regurgitate anything anybody says if it will suit their need to fill air or use ink and paper.  All this does is muddy the waters of those looking for the truth.  As of today I still have a hard time finding the exact numbers of guns and types.  If you do searches you will find links to the very first report of two handguns and one "assault" ...  However, if you pay attention to the dates of the reports the further we get away from the incident the less they have of facts.

Makes it easier to re-write to fit "The Narrative" that way.

I believe the purpose of the free speech portion of the First Amendment was to assure the press was putting all facts out in front of the public.  If the media chooses to self censor to further their agenda, do they lose First Amendment protections?

Interesting thought.

Interesting, indeed.

If a news reporter lies, omits facts, commits libel or slander....should they be held just as accountable (up to and including potentially losing the right to report news) the same as a gun owner who commits a crime and forfeits the right to own a gun?
In principle, they are akin.

Spreading lies on the internet translates as posting things we don't agree with.

Sounds reasonable to me.
The guy that made that "Islam video" got sent back to jail for a parole violation for accessing the net , so there is precedent for shutting down that outlet, then fine the crap out of his employer for his lies, that will get him fired.
Isn't that basically what happened to Peter Jennings ?

We have to at least admit that as each passing day goes by, the Internet becomes a larger toilet for nonsense. About all that's gotten "better" on the web is porn.

Unlike newspapers and TV which all put out pretty much the same crap, if you search and compare you can find reasonably accurate information on the web .
I haven't found any blatant mistakes on Blaze, or Breitbart yet.
Also it gives us access to foreign news sources which may be slanted to serve their purposes but if you compare them to our news you can filter out both slants and get an idea of the real story.

The Iranian theory of the 'How', not the 'Why' is looking better all the time.
