I bought my SR9c from a friend who didn’t like it.
The slide was EXTREMELY difficult to rack. In one day I ended up with 4 pinch marks on my weak hand and 1 on my strong hand when the pistol slipped in my grip while racking the slide.
First mag 10 rounds 4 light striker hits!
Within first 50 rounds 8 total light striker hits.
    Import ammo….MFS…
No feed problems, just light striker hits.
Field stripped and cleaned excess grease, I guess my friend hardly or never fired this pistol.
Last range visit, 6 light striker hits out of 65 rounds.
Do you think i have a problem, or just need more breaking in?????

  2. Ray says:

Are you using cheap ammo, say Fiocchi, had a bud with a glock 40 have 7 light strikes out of 100, my ruger none.

  3. Dave says:

Yes. This will happen. Sent mine back to Ruger, they replaced the trigger group it still had light strikes. Completely tore down striker assembly. Polished it, Extended the spring, filed and polished the breech. Now is flawless.

  4. Rodney D says:

This is because Ruger ships the guns with TONS of packing grease in it. You need to take apart the striker pin and clean out all the junk in there. You will no longer have any problems after that! Guaranteed!
