[...] Wilson Combat SPEC-OPS9 [...]
Wilson’s website says MSRP is $1995. Yeesh.
Is $1995 expensive for a Wilson hangun?
Its no wonder they went with a plain vanilla name like that. Most of the names suggested on the forum I admin were along the lines of Ugly Ass Gun (UAG) and the like.
Not to toot my own horn, but I think my suggestion “Eternal Vigilance 9″ was better. Less generic at least.
It is funny how the Special Ops / socom guys want .45ACP, hence the gun trials that never took place. Then Wilson names their 9mm, a caliber that nobody wants anymore since police and FBI use .40 S&W and SWAT uses 45 ACP, the Spec Ops 9. What Special operations force in the world uses 9mm anymore?
Navy S.E.A.L.S use 9mm P226.
The 9mm is still very, very common in SOF units. Its probably not going anywhere anytime soon, but the last gun in the world they’d run is a 9mm 1911.
