Mattheyer Claims Smith & Wesson Rocky Mountain Regional Classic Wheelgun Title

ICORE logoLOS OSOS, California – Topping the field on all eight stages, Troy Mattheyer of Ellis, Kansas coasted to a 66.04 second margin of victory to claim the Classic division title at the International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts’ (ICORE) Smith & Wesson Rocky Mountain Regional Revolver Championship this past weekend at the Weld County Fish & Wildlife High Plains Shooting Range in Galeton, Colorado.

“Troy’s win at the Rocky Mountain Regional builds on his earlier fourth place finish at the Smith & Wesson International Revolver Championship and points to what we hope will be additional title wins for him this season,” said Ron Joslin of ICORE.

Finishing second and taking the Senior Classic title was Rod Goodall with a time of 328.08 seconds. Third place went to senior shooter Chuck Sampier with 408.09 while fourth place went to super senior shooter Gary Fry with 533.70. Rounding out the top five was another super senior shooter, Jerry Snapp, with a final time of 786.52 seconds.

The Smith & Wesson Rocky Mountain Regional Revolver Championship was the second of seven events in the 2011 ICORE Regional Series presented by Smith & Wesson. The next event is the Smith & Wesson Central States Regional Revolver Championship on Sunday, July 17 in Buchanan, Mich. at the Bend of the River Conservation Club range.
