Glock launches new integrated marketing effort featuring R. Lee Ermey

Smyrna, GA (Aug. 29, 2011) – GLOCK, Inc. the nation’s leading pistol supplier to American law enforcement agencies, is launching an integrated marketing effort this summer that includes a new website, print and digital ads, broadcast spots and a 25th Anniversary Promotion for consumers and channel partners. GLOCK spokesman, actor and avid gun enthusiast R. Lee Ermey (aka “Gunny”) stars in the broadcast and print campaigns.

The new GLOCK website, www.teamGLOCK.com, is designed to speak with eight key consumer groups, providing new functionality and ecommerce options. GLOCK has made selecting your recommended pistol easier by highlighting specific pistols, their attributes and unique benefits under each consumer target. The site features 360 degree views of each GLOCK pistol and will feature consumer testimonials, videos and news segments.

R. Lee Ermey is the voice of GLOCK’s new GLOCKimonial print campaign, which showcases GLOCK’s “Safe. Simple. Fast. = Confidence” message through real world testimonials from consumers. The ads will run across a wide variety of military, law enforcement and enthusiast publications. The campaign also features online advertising that will launch in conjunction with the new website. A three page insertion in Guns and Ammo kicks off the campaign and is a call to action for consumers to send their stories into GLOCK’s Facebook page, www.facebook.com/glockinc or www.teamglock.com/amazingstories.

“We are going to be aggressively marketing our brand and products moving forward with a campaign that demonstrates GLOCK reliability and service through the eyes of real consumers,” said Mike Robinson, GLOCK Director of Marketing. “There is an indelible bond created between GLOCK products and their owners because GLOCK pistols are safe, simple to use and reliable, which delivers confidence to the user.”

Ermey will also star in the first of a series of “Somebody Picked the Wrong…” broadcast spots from GLOCK. The first in the series is titled “Somebody Picked the Wrong House” and highlights GLOCK as a home protection option. The spot features a thief unknowingly breaking into Ermey’s house. The spots will initially run on Tac-TV with Larry Vickers, Gallery of Guns, and The High Road with Keith Warren in addition to future broadcast placements.

“Gunny is an icon among gun enthusiasts, law enforcement and military personnel,” said Gary Fletcher, GLOCK Vice President. “He personifies what it is to be an American patriot and we are excited to have him featured on broadcast, print and online creative.”

GLOCK has been celebrating its 25th Anniversary in the United States and will initiate a consumer and retail partner promotion that offers a trip to the company’s global headquarters and birthplace in Austria. Consumers can register for the once-in-a-lifetime experience at www.glockvacation.com.
