Cowboy Action Shooting covers the time period from around 1850 to the turn of the century. The fast growing Wild Bunch Match in SASS covers the early part of the 20th century and for those sports shooters with a fancy for the “Roaring Twenties”, you now have the Zoot Shooters as an option.
AZSA (American Zoot Shooters Association) is a multi-gun sport in which participants dress in 1920s costumes and compete against the clock engaging targets for the best possible score. Zoot Shooters must use firearms that are correct for the time surrounding Prohibition.
August 29, 2009, is the date for their national championship held in Dumont, Colorado.
