For help in planning your own Africa adventure, we strongly recommend AFRICAN ODYSSEY. Bringing firearms into an Africa country is often weird, complex kabuki, and Elaine understands how this all works. In addition, I strongly suggest you pay AFRICAN ODYSSEY for a “minder” at the airport of your arrival…it will save you hours and ulcers!

The dogs bark, but the caravan moves on. I actually had to look that up, since I had never actually heard it. It seems to indeed be Turkish, as the words rhyme in the language.

I find myself clinging to this type of saying much harder the older I get. It is like a touchstone to a past that has long disappeared.

I think I understand what you were getting at with your comments about vegetarians. Even vegetarians are killers. Humans can’t survive without killing something – or at least consuming something from many kills. Every swing of a scythe, drop of the hammer, and turn of the knife sustains a human – holier than thou or not.

Great episode! Really enjoyed your description of your cape buffalo hunt. Oh, and your “miss,” too!
