Not meaning to be critical, just trying to add to the conversation here. I was standing around at Thunder Ranch for a Long Range AR class in Feb. Just about every AR there had a 16 in barrel and was getting hits at 700 yards. This wasn’t offhand of course, it was all done at the prone with good optics. But still… I’m not familiar with the Doublestar C3 but I can say that 14 in barreled Noveskes, and just about every brand you can name are as small as the C3 and capable of outstanding accuracy. Bottom line, ARs are a great choice for mid to long range, as well as pistol ranges. But if shorter ranges was all I was interested in I’d go to some kind of SBR (Noveske If I win the lottery). As an aside, Mr Smith was kind enough to loan me his Krebs KR-13 in 7.62X39 for a few days. I can say without hesitation that it’s folding stock and open sighting system would allow me to shoot around the bad guy’s body armor at 100 yds, shoot minute of man at 300 yards and folds up (25″?) into a very nice package. That’s the weapon I’d lug around the country.
