Dave Kopel Analyzes McDonald Ruling (NRA Video)

Research Director at the Independence Institute Dave Kopel talks to Cam Edwards about the future of gun rights in America following the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of Second Amendment incorporation in McDonald v. City of Chicago. Kopel notes that the Supreme Court was divided on this issue and has the potential to become less supportive of Second Amendment rights in the future. Local politicians and anti-gun activists are claiming that they can still restrict the use of guns as they please, and the NRA will need to be ready to fight them all over the nation. But Kopel notes that many of the greatest financial supporters of the anti-gun movement were drawn by the prospect of eventually banning handguns, and the Supreme Court has taken this option off the table.
